All You’ve Got
By Jennifer Kane
Learn to love God with
all you’ve got!
With all of my Heart
The fountain of passions,
the seat of desires—
from the heart flows all life,
both spiritual and physical.
We aren’t meant to follow it blindly;
the heart deceives.
But love God with all of it.
Pray for Him to soften it,
to shape it for His will.
With all of my Soul
The breath of life,
filling me,
keeping me from being an empty shell.
It stirs awareness,
a yearning for eternity.
Though soul and flesh may war,
loving God with my soul is simple,
yet not always easy.
His burden is light,
His yoke is easy—
I remember the One who gave me life.
With all of my Mind
A gift for deep thought,
for imagination.
I strive to keep my mind aligned with God.
He does not condone ignorance;
He grants wisdom to those who ask.
When I don’t know, I search His Word.
Alert, sober-minded,
I set my thoughts on Jesus Christ.
With all of my Strength
Ability, force, and power—
what even is the body?
It is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
no longer my own.
I consider how I use this body,
because God delights
when I work hard for His sake.
He renews my strength.
Heart, soul, mind, and strength—
I set them all on the Lord Jesus Christ.
