“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”

Love Overflow
By Jennifer Kane
The Father loves the Son
with a love that has no beginning,
no first moment, no spark—
only existence, infinite and whole.
A love that has no end,
never fading, never weary,
stretching beyond time itself,
never breaking, never lost.
It is close, nearer than breath,
a whisper felt in the soul,
a presence that lingers
in silence and song.
It is without measure,
vast as the heavens,
deeper than oceans,
wider than the reach of stars.
It is unchanging,
constant as the rising sun,
steady through every storm,
a promise that never fails.
Father, Son, and Spirit—
they pour that same love onto me,
filling every empty place,
overflowing, abundant, alive.
Let it spill from my hands,
let it flow through my words,
touching hearts,
binding wounds unseen.
Let love be the word they speak
when they remember my name,
the echo of my life,
the legacy I leave behind.
I love You—
three, six, nine times more,
a love received, a love returned,
a message written on my heart.

Scripture: John 15:9-17
Love is more than a feeling—it is an action, a commitment, and a way of life. Jesus spoke these words on the night before His crucifixion, emphasizing that the love He gives us is the same love He has received from the Father. This love is unconditional, meaning it is not based on our worthiness, perfection, or performance. It is given freely and calls us to respond by abiding in it.
When I reflect on my own life, I see countless ways I have been loved—not just in moments of joy, but also in my weaknesses, failures, and struggles. God’s love did not waver when I doubted, when I was afraid, or when I fell short. Instead, His love pursued me, lifted me, and restored me. Just as Christ loves unconditionally, He calls us to love one another in the same way (John 15:12).
But loving others the way Jesus loves us is not always easy. There are times when people hurt us, misunderstand us, or make it difficult to show kindness. Yet Jesus set the example: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). This love is sacrificial—it seeks the good of others, even when it costs us something.
When we remain in His love, it overflows from our lives into the lives of those around us. We don’t have to manufacture love from our own strength; we simply receive it from Him and let it flow outward.
How have you experienced God’s unconditional love in your life?
Is there someone in your life who needs to experience Christ’s love through you?
What practical steps can you take today to love others sacrificially?
Take time today to intentionally love someone with Christ-like love. It could be through an act of kindness, a word of encouragement, or extending grace to someone who may not deserve it. As you do, remember that the love you give is simply a reflection of the love you have first received from God.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally. Help me to remain in Your love and extend it freely to others. Teach me to love sacrificially, as You have loved me. May my life reflect the depth and beauty of Your perfect love. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
