“Attributes of God: Knowledge”

The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
— Proverbs 15:3

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
— Psalms 139:1-4

“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.”
— Acts 2:22-23

Attributes of God: Knowledge
By Jennifer Kane

O Lord, You search and know my ways,
My rising and my rest.
Before a word is on my tongue,
You know my heart’s request.

Your eyes behold both good and ill;
No deed escapes Your sight.
The cross of Christ was known of old,
Foreplanned in love and might.

So let me walk in open trust,
Before Your perfect will.
The God who knows me loves me most,
And guards me even still.

And when I stand before Your throne,
All sin and sorrow gone,
I’ll praise the God who knew my name,
And claimed me as His own.

Scripture: Proverbs 15:3, Psalms 139:1-4, Acts 2:22-23

God’s knowledge is infinite, eternal, and perfect. He knows all things—past, present, and future—in one single act of His mind. Nothing escapes His sight, nothing surprises Him, and nothing is hidden from Him.

God’s eyes are everywhere. He watches over the righteous, protecting and guiding, but also sees the wicked, holding them accountable. His knowledge penetrates every corner of creation.

God knows me—my thoughts, my words before I speak them, my rising and my resting. This truth can comfort us when we feel unseen or misunderstood, and convict us when we try to hide our sins or motives.

The greatest evil—the crucifixion of Christ—was not outside of God’s plan but according to His foreknowledge and decree. Even the darkest moment of human rebellion became the stage for the greatest act of redemption.

The knowledge of God is not just about facts—it is relational, purposeful, and redemptive. He knows all things, and He knows you.

Ask yourself today: Do I live as though God sees and knows everything? Do I find comfort in His intimate knowledge, or do I try to hide parts of my life from Him?

Let God’s perfect knowledge lead you to honesty, surrender, and trust. Rest in the truth that the One who knows you best also loves you most.

All-seeing Father, Your knowledge is too wonderful for me, too high for me to attain. You know every thought, every word, every action, and still You set Your love upon me. Teach me to walk in honesty before You, to find comfort in Your watchful care, and to rest in the truth that nothing in my life is hidden from You. To the God who knows all and loves perfectly, be glory forever. Amen.
