The Bouquet of God’s Attributes
By Jennifer Kane

O Lord, You stand in perfect light,
Alone in Your solitariness, yet never in need,
Your decrees stretch from before time’s dawn,
Every purpose sure, every word a seed.

Your knowledge deeper than oceans wide,
Your foreknowledge charts each star in its course,
Supreme above kingdoms, thrones, and powers,
Sovereign in wisdom, the fountain, the source.

Unchanging One—forever the same,
Holy in splendor, blazing with might,
Strong in power, faithful and true,
Guiding Your people through darkest night.

Goodness flows from Your endless heart,
Patience waits with tender hand,
Grace unearned, mercy undeserved,
Love unmeasured, vast as the sand.

All attributes join in radiant song,
Not divided, but one perfect whole,
A bouquet eternal, fragrant with glory,
The God of heaven who shepherds my soul.

So I lift my voice, my heart, my days,
To the Only One worthy of endless praise—
From Him, through Him, to Him are all things,
Forever my God, my Savior, my King.

Scripture: Psalm 145:3, Jeremiah 9:24, Romans 11:36, 1 Timothy 1:17, Revelation 4:11

When you pause to look closely at a single flower, you notice the details—the soft texture of the petals, the hidden fragrance, the strength of the stem. But when you gather many flowers together, you see their combined beauty. A single rose is beautiful; a bouquet overwhelms the senses.

So it is with the attributes of God. Studying one attribute at a time allows us to marvel at His holiness, or His love, or His patience. But when we step back and behold all of them together, we are met with a breathtaking picture of who God truly is.

God is not holy at the expense of His love, nor powerful without patience. His sovereignty does not cancel out His mercy, and His faithfulness flows perfectly with His decrees. These attributes are not fragments—they are the whole, working together in flawless harmony. They reveal a God who is not only worthy of our study but also of our worship and trust.

So why focus on God’s attributes?
1. They steady our faith. When life is unstable, knowing that God is immutable—unchanging—anchors us.
2. They humble our hearts. His supremacy and sovereignty remind us that we are created beings, dependent on Him for every breath.
3. They fill us with hope. His grace, mercy, and love assure us that His heart leans toward us, not against us.
4. They fuel our worship. The more we know about Him, the more natural it is to adore Him with awe and gratitude.

As His special creation, we were designed to reflect and delight in Him. Just as flowers turn toward the sun, our souls thrive when turned toward God’s light. Meditating on His attributes is not mere theology—it is the very purpose of our existence: to know Him, to love Him, and to glorify and enjoy Him forever.

This week, take time each day to pray through one of God’s attributes, thanking Him not only for that aspect of His character but also for how it joins the bouquet of His glory. End the week by praising Him for the harmony of who He is—the One and Only God, beautiful beyond measure.

Father Almighty, we lift our hearts in awe of who You are—the holy, sovereign, faithful, merciful, and loving God. You are the One who was, who is, and who is to come, unchanging in power, perfect in goodness, overflowing in grace. All that You are is beautiful beyond measure, and every attribute reveals the glory of Your name. Teach us to live in wonder of You, to rest in Your faithfulness, and to walk in Your love. To You alone belong all honor, praise, and worship, now and forevermore. Amen.
